the racoons chitchat.

I was going through my itunes and I came across the Racoons. I then remembered that I had the privledge of talking to these guys during my visit to the exclusive Rogue Launch Party at Holt Renfrew Vancouver on March 16th. Totally blown away by their music, these guys are going to be huge. Again, really sorry for posting this months late!


Marta: tell me about your sound, and your influences
The Racoons: We’ve been together for about a year and a half, and we’re from Victoria. We all knew each other through school and we had mutual friends, and we originally sounded like a garage band. Later on we started playing a synthesizer as a kind of joke, and it turned into a, well I don’t know what to call it. A garage band with synthesizers.

M: as for albums, what’s going on? Do you have anything out already or are you working on anything?
The Racoons: We have an EP out right now, and right now we’re slowly adding new songs and working on something full length to be done sometime this summer.

M: alright, and one last question real quick. How do you feel about tonight? The atmosphere?
The Racoons: Pretty good, really attractive people. We had a lot of fun, and we didn’t really know what to expect coming in. Everybody has been amazingly nice, no riff-raff. We’re also the least attractive people here.
